When a PDF is uploaded to Learn Content, GFoundry now automatically extracts its title, description, and full text using AI - so administrators no longer need to fill in metadata manually.
Once uploaded, the PDF enters a background processing queue. The AI engine reads the document, generates a title and a summary description, and indexes the full text content. Once processing is complete, administrators can review and edit the extracted title and description directly in the backoffice. The extracted content is then used across search, reporting, and learning context throughout the platform.

Why this matters
- Zero manual metadata entry - title and description are generated automatically from the PDF content, saving time on every upload
- Editable after processing - administrators can review and adjust the AI-extracted title and description once the PDF has been processed, keeping full control over what learners see
- Resilient processing pipeline - the system automatically retries failed extractions and tracks processing state, so no PDF is silently left without metadata
- Richer search and discovery - full text indexing of PDF content enables more accurate search results across the Learn module
- Scales with volume - batch processing via background jobs handles large document repositories without impacting platform performance
- Feeds the AI Assistant knowledge base - extracted PDF content can be used to enrich the context available to GFoundry's AI bot, improving the quality and relevance of its responses. Administrators decide whether each PDF's content is made available for this purpose and can always segment what is included - full control remains with the client.
PDF uploads in Learn now go from raw files to fully described, searchable content - automatically.
